• I grew up on a permanent sandbar, 5 streets wide, at the tip of Long Island. One side was a bay, the other the Atlantic Ocean with white sand beaches.
  
  I would walk on the beach every day. The sea would frequently reflect my moods. The images have always stayed with me.
